We at the FSHS will serve students in higher education institutions throughout the summer. The service offering is scaled to the estimated lower demand during the summer season.
FSHS’s digital and remote services will operate on all weekdays and there are several service units in our service areas that are open throughout the summer. Possible exceptions in local services have been listed on this page.

Assessing your need for treatment and service guidance
The nationwide telephone services for the need for treatment assessments and service guidance are available throughout the summer Mon-Thurs from 8.00 am to 3.00 pm and Fri from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm (excluding public holidays).
SelfChat is open on weekdays
- in matters related to general and mental health Mon–Fri 9 am to 11 am
- in matters related to oral health Mon–Fri 9 am to 11 am.
- the chat line for hearing-impaired custormers is open Mon–Thu 8 am–3 pm and Fri 8 am–2 pm.

Local appointments

- FSHS´s service units in Tulli and Hervanta in Tampere are open on weekdays throughout the summer.
- There are no local appointments at FSHS Hämeenlinna from 15 July to 19 July 2024.
- There are no local appointments at FSHS Seinäjoki from 1 July to 26 July 2024 (the patient office will also be closed during this period).
Exceptions in the opening hours of patient offices (general advice, paperwork) at YTHS central
- The patient office at FSHS Tampere, Tulli will be closed on the following Thursdays: 30 May 2024, 27 June 2024, 4 July 2024 and 11 July 2024 (on other weeks open Mon–Fri from 9.00 am to 11.30 am).
- The patient office at FSHS Hämeenlinna will be close from 15 July to 19 July 2024 (on other weeks open Wed–Fri 10 am–11 am).
- The patient office at FSHS Seinäjoki will be closed from 1 July to 26 July 2024 (on other weeks open Tue and Thu 10 am –11 am).
FSHS East

- The general and mental health services at FSHS Jyväskylä, FSHS Joensuu and FSHS Kuopio, are open throughout the summer.
- One exception: The service unit FSHS Kuopio is exceptionally closed on Friday 7 June 2024 (ur national service numbers and SelfChat will serve according to the normal opening hours).
- There are no local appointments for oral health services at FSHS Jyväskylä, FSHS Joensuu and FSHS Kuopio from 15 July to 26 July 2024.
- There are no local appointments for general and mental health at FSHS Mikkeli from 22 July to 2 August 2024.
Exceptions in the opening hours of patient offices (general advice, paperwork) at YTHS central
The patient office at FSHS Joensuu will be open between 1 June and 31 August 2024 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 13:00 to 14:00 (on other weeks Mon–Thu from 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm).
FSHS North
- FSHS´s service unit in Oulu, as well as the general and mental health services at FSHS Rovaniemi are open on weekdays throughout the summer.
- There are no local appointments at FSHS Kajaani, FSHS Kemi and FSHS Kokkola from 1 July to 31 July 2024.
- There are no local appointments for oral health at FSHS Rovaniemi from 24 July to 2 August 2024.

- FSHS´s service unit in Helsinki, Töölö is open on weekdays throughout the summer.
- There are no local appointments for general and mental health at FSHS Helsinki, Malmi from 15 July to 26 July 2024. In addition, the service unit FSHS Malmi will be exceptionally closed on Tuesday 11 June 2024 (our national service numbers and SelfChat will serve according to the normal opening hours).
- There are no local appointments for general and mental health at FSHS Espoo from 15 July to 26 July 2024.
- There are no local appointments for oral health from 1 July to 12 July 2024 at FSHS Lahti and no local appointments for general and mental health from 15 July to 26 July 2024 at FSHS Lahti (even the patient office at FSHS Lahti will be closed from 15 July to 26 July 2024).
- There are no local appointments for general and mental health at FSHS Kouvola from 5 July to 2 August 2024.
- There are no local appointments for oral health from 15 July to 26 July 2024 at FSHS Lappeenranta and no local appointments for general and mental health from 1 July to 14 July 2024 at FSHS Lappeenranta. The patient office at FSHS Lappeenranta will be closed from 1 July to 23 August 2024.
Exceptions in the opening hours of patient offices (general advice, paperwork) at YTHS central
- The patient office at FSHS Espoo will be closed from 15 July to 6 August 2024, the patient office is open on other weeks on Wed and Fri from 9 am to 11 am. (The information point at the service uni Helsinki, Töölö is open Mon – Fri 9am – 11am and 12pm – 2 pm, if necessary).
FSHS West
Local appointments
- FSHS´s service units in Turku and Vaasa, as well as the general and mental health services in Pori, are open on weekdays throughout the summer.
- There are no local appointments for oral health at FSHS Pori from 8 July to 12 July 2024.
- There are no local appointments for general and mental health at FSHS Rauma from 24 June to 16 August 2024.

Our partners service units serve during the summer according to their own opening hours.
Ascension Day
All our own service units, SelfChat and our nationwide telephone services are closed on Ascension Day, Thursday 9 May 2024. Our partners service units serve according to their own opening hours.
Midsummer eve
All our own service units, SelfChat and our nationwide telephone services are closed on Midsummer Eve, Friday 21 June 2024. Our partners service units serve according to their own opening hours.
The services can only be used when registered as present for the semester
In order to use FSHS services, including the Self online service and remote services, you must be registered as an attending student. Please note, that the transfer of the information regarding your enrollment comes with a small delay to us.
If you have registered as an attending student for the spring semester 2024, the right to use FSHS´s services will continue until 31 July 2024. You must register as an attending student for the autumn semester 2024 in order to use our services also in August 2024. The autumn semester starts on 1 August 2024.
Changes in exceptional opening hours are possible. The news will be updated if necessary.
