Laboratory examinations are often needed to determine your health status. Typical laboratory examinations include blood and urine sampling, taking gynaecological samples, ECG examinations and spirometric examinations.
Laboratory examinations performed at the FSHS are free of charge. However, you will always need a referral by a doctor or a public health nurse. After receiving a referral and a booking permission, you can book an appointment in Self or on the phone service of your FSHS unit. The opening hours and contact details of the laboratories can be found on the units’ website.
Laboratory examinations are performed at many of our units, and some samples are examined on site. If the samples are examined on site, you will receive your laboratory results during the same day. However, some laboratory examinations are performed in conjunction with our partner laboratories, and most samples will be sent to them for examination.
