Mental Health
Mental health can be defined in many different ways, but basically it means the right level of psychological well-being and the absence of mental disorders. According to the WHO definition, mental health is “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community”.
Mental well-being encompasses the ability to adapt to social and other environments, a coherent self-identity, recognition of one’s abilities and limitations, the ability to process emotions, and psychological flexibility during changes and problem situations. Good mental health is a resource that helps you to cope in daily life and during unexpected life events.
