Common STDs can be tested remotely

Students order about 20,000 STD tests a year through the FSHS home testing website. In this article, a public health nurse working at the FSHS shares information about STDs and when to get tested.

Changes in the patient ombudsman activities

The patient ombudsman’s activities will end in the current form on 1 January 2024. In the future all
activities will organized by the wellbeing services counties.

New FSHS service unit changes this year

FSHS service units in seven towns will be relocated during the remainder of this year. Local services will then be provided at the FSHS’s own service unit in another town. In addition to local appointments, university students will be able to use the FSHS’s digital service channels as before.

Changes in the FSHS service units during the end of the year

On 1 November 2023, FSHS service units in eight towns will be relocated. Services in these towns are provided by FSFS partners. The services concerned have been put out to tender and, as a result, will be offered at a new partner unit in the same town.

Our service units are closed on May Day

All our service units, SelfChat and our nationwide telephone services are closed on May Day (1 May 2023). We will serve again on Tuesday 2 May 2023.

Opening times during Easter 2023

The FSHS own service units are open on Holy Thursday 6th of April 2023 from 8.00 am to 12.30 pm. The national phone services will serve on Holy Thursday from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm.

Teija Kulmala appointed FSHS Medical Director 

Teija Kulmala D.Med.Sc., Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, took up her duties as the FSHS’s new Medical Director on 8 August 2022. Kulmala will be responsible for FSHS services, developing service production and for reporting.

Study community work key project of 2021 chosen

The video project “Kyykyllä opiskelukykyä” (‘Squats for the ability to study’) has been chosen as the key project of 2021. The videos, produced by students from Lahti, were designed to motivate people to exercise.
