New mental health service line in SelfChat

A new service line for mental health treatment guidance has been opened in SelfChat. This mental health line provides students with assessment of the need for treatment and guidance on services from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.

The SelfChat service lines for general and oral health issues continue to operate as usual, from Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 2 p.m. Due to the increased demand for mental health services during the coronavirus pandemic, the new mental health service line on SelfChat has longer service hours to ensure rapid contact times and appropriate service guidance.

SelfChat is available

  • for general and oral health issues from Monday to Friday, 12 noon to 2 p.m.
  • for mental health issues from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The expansion of mental health services on SelfChat is being carried out with government funding received by the FSHS and is aimed at reducing problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic, supporting the ability to study of students in higher education, and ensuring student well-being.

MieliChat is the place to talk anonymously about your mental health

In June, the FSHS opened a new anonymous MieliChat service for students.

MieliChat is the place to talk anonymously about your worries and get advice and support for your mental health and well-being. MieliChat is available from Monday to Friday (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and can be accessed via the Self online service.

MieliChat cannot be used to access patient records or make appointment bookings. For these matters, log on to SelfChat or call the national service number for general and mental health: 046 7101073.
