A penalty fee
The Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) increases the penalty fee for students who do not cancel and do not arrive at the appointment from 15 to 25 euros starting from January 1 2012.

LABORATORY EXAMINATIONS
Laboratory examinations are only available if you have a referral by an FSHS doctor or public health nurse.
Laboratory tests and appointments: Laboratory tests without a prior reservation from Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 12.00 (see exceptions to our regular service hours).
When you arrive at the laboratory please take a queuing number under LABORATORY TESTS (NÄYTTEENOTTO).You will need an appointment for glucose and lactose tolerance tests and in the afternoons for cervical smear tests (FSHS Pap test referral). To make an appointment call 046 710 1287.

How to cancel an appointment: Call our automated telephone service on 046 710 1028 no later than on the business day before your appointment or use the appointment cancellation form.When using the online cancellation form, select the health centre, general health and write 'laboratory' as the recipient.
We charge a penalty fee of €25 for no-show appointments.
How to take a sample at home: For instructions and sample containers for samples taken at home, visit the laboratory on a business day between 8.00 and 15.00.You can drop your sample off at the laboratory from Monday to Thursday between 8.00 and 15 and on Fridays by 12.00 noon. Remember to follow the instructions provided by our laboratory staff regarding your specific sample.
When you arrive at the laboratory please take a queuing number under SAMPLES TAKEN AT HOME (KOTONA ANNETUT NÄYTTEET).
Laboratory test results: Instructions regarding how and from whom you will receive the results of your laboratory tests are provided by the FSHS staff member who gave you the referral for the tests. (Results are not available from our lab staff.) If you were not informed about this, make a phone appointment with your doctor/public health nurse on 046 710 1027.

IMAGING EXAMINATIONS
Our imaging examinations include bone and dental X-ray examinations, ultrasound examinations, spirometry tests and electrocardiography (EKG). These examinations are available on referral by an FSHS doctor, with EKG also being available on referral by an FSHS public health nurse.
You will need to book an appointment in advance for ultrasound examinations, spirometry tests and special dental imaging.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 15.45 during the winter period, Monday to Thursday between 8.00 and 15.00 and on Friday between 8.00 and 14.00 during the summer period.
When you arrive please take a queuing number under IMAGING (KUVANTAMINEN).

Please use this number for inquiries concerning musculosceletal issues such as self-care, prevention and borrowing small aids. You need an FSHS doctor's referral for individual physiotherapy.
