Start using Self!
•Start using the Self service by entering your contact details and choosing how you want to be notified of messages in the service (sms or email)
•If you have a Finnish online banking ID or a mobile ID, you can use them to log in to the service.  Self service in available after you have paid the FSHS healthcare fee
•If you don’t have a Finnish online banking ID or a mobile ID, bring your passport to your first appointment at FSHS for the online authentication
•You can use the Selfservice to check and cancel your appointments. If your need for treatment for your condition/complaint has already been assessed, you can also book an appointment or change an existing appointment
•First-year students will be sent a health questionnaire checking their health through the service

The FSHS’s online chat service is a new service channel that allows students to communicate with the FSHS.
Starting on 17 September, it will run alongside the telephone service and help with assessing the need for treatment and making appointment bookings.

Acute treatment

Laboratory and imaging examinations

Exceptions to our regular service hours:
If New Year's Eve, Maundy Thursday or 30 April falls on a weekday from Monday to Friday, only urgent emergency examinations are available on the day. The samples taken home - agreed with the laboratory - should be in the laboratory at 10 am on these exception days.

LABORATORY EXAMINATIONS

Laboratory examinations are only available if you have a referral by an FSHS doctor or public health nurse.

Appointments Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri at 8-13 and Wed at 8-12.
Arrive in time for the appointment. We will call you by name.

Laboratory appointments can be booked via the Self service. If this is not feasible for any reason, you can also call the site, tel. 046 710 1027.

To make an appointment, you will need a permission, which you can obtain from an FSHS doctor or public health nurse. The permission allows you to book appointments via the Self service. If an appointment you have booked is no longer suitable for you, you can reschedule it without losing your permission. If you find you do not need a laboratory appointment at all, you can cancel your booking. You will then lose your permission.

How to take a sample at home: For instructions and sample containers for samples taken at home, visit the laboratory on a business day between 8.00 and 14.00.You can drop your sample off at the laboratory from Monday to Thursday between 8.00 and 14.00 and on Fridays by 12.00 noon. Remember to follow the instructions provided by our laboratory staff regarding your specific sample.
When you arrive at the laboratory please take a queuing number under SAMPLES TAKEN AT HOME (KOTONA ANNETUT NÄYTTEET).

Laboratory test results: Instructions regarding how and from whom you will receive the results of your laboratory tests are provided by the FSHS staff member who gave you the referral for the tests. (Results are not available from our lab staff.) If you were not informed about this, make a phone appointment with your doctor/public health nurse on 046 710 1027.

IMAGING EXAMINATIONS
Our imaging examinations include bone and dental X-ray examinations, ultrasound examinations, spirometry tests and electrocardiography (EKG). These examinations are available on referral by an FSHS doctor, with EKG also being available on referral by an FSHS public health nurse.
You will need to book an appointment in advance for ultrasound examinations, spirometry tests and special dental imaging.

When you arrive please take a queuing number under IMAGING (KUVANTAMINEN).
