The patient ombudsman works to promote patients’ rights. The ombudsman will advise and assist you if you are dissatisfied with your care or treatment. The ombudsman can also help you lodge a complaint or objection or file a notice of patient injury with the Finnish Patient Insurance Centre.

The patient ombudsman will not comment on decisions made about your medical treatment. Neither will the ombudsman express an opinion as to whether or not there has been an error in your treatment.
