Prevention of infectious diseases

The Finnish Student Health Service is active in the prevention and detection of infectious diseases. Infectious diseases can be controlled with vaccinations provided the vaccination coverage is consistently high enough in the entire population.

To prevent infectious diseases, we will provide you with:

• the vaccinations included in the national vaccination programme (more information on thl.fi),
• travel health advice and instructions on travel vaccinations,
• information on the vaccinations and infectious diseases reports required for work placement (applies to those studying welfare and health)
• health assessment with regard to salmonella (applies to those studying veterinary medicine and food sciences).
