News: Opening times during summer, Unit office new opening hours, Appointment booking rescheduling and cancellation practices will change

The FSHS unit in Turku is closed 22.6.2018 and  2.7-29.7.2018.

In oral health issues take contact on oral health appointment
tel. 02 266 0644, mon-fri at 8 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Other times take contact to The Turku region´s A&E centre, Savitehtaankatu 1, tel. 02 313 1564, between 9. to 11. a.m.

Unit office new opening hours from on 30.7. 2018 are  8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Appointment booking rescheduling and cancellation practices will change from 31 July

Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled no later than one full day (24 hours) prior to the appointment. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled after this time will be subject to a booking fee of € 35. Start using Self!

  • Start using the Self service by entering your contact details and choosing how you want to be notified of messages in the service (sms or email)
  • If you have a Finnish online banking ID or a mobile ID, you can use them to log in to the service.  Self service in available after you have paid the FSHS healthcare fee
  • If you don’t have a Finnish online banking ID or a mobile ID, bring your passport to your first appointment at FSHS for the online authentication
  • You can use the Selfservice to check and cancel your appointments. If your need for treatment for your condition/complaint has already been assessed, you can also book an appointment or change an existing appointment
  • First-year students will be sent a health questionnaire checking their health through the service

Laboratory and imaging examinations

LABORATORY TESTS

Laboratory tests without a prior reservation or reservation from Monday to Friday between 7.45 and 12.00.

Laboratory examinations are only available if you have a referral by an FSHS doctor or public health nurse.

Exceptions to our regular service hours:
If New Year's Eve, Maundy Thursday or 30 April falls on a weekday from Monday to Friday, only urgent emergency examinations are available on the day.

The FSHS has changed its laboratory appointment booking practices

Laboratory appointments can be booked via the Self service. If this is not feasible for any reason, you can also call the site 046 710 1050.

To make an appointment, you will need an appointment ticket, which you can obtain from an FSHS doctor or public health nurse. The ticket allows you to book appointments via the Self system. If an appointment you have booked is no longer suitable for you, you can reschedule it without losing your ticket. If you find you do not need a laboratory appointment at all, you can cancel your booking. You will then lose your appointment ticket.


HOW TO TAKE A SAMPLE AT HOME
For instructions and sample containers for samples taken at home, visit the laboratory on a business day between 7.45 and 15.00 (friday 7.45-14).

You can drop your sample to the laboratory taking the keynumber: MUU ASIOINTI, when you come before 12 a.m. When you arrive at the laboratory after 12 p.m. please ring the doorbell.

LABORATORY TEST RESULTS
Instructions regarding how and from whom you will receive the results of your laboratory tests are provided by the FSHS staff member who gave you the referral for the tests. (Results are not available from our lab staff.) If you were not informed about this, make a phone appointment with your doctor/public health nurse on 046 710 1050.

IMAGING EXAMINATIONS
You need a referral by an FSHS doctor for imaging examinations (X-ray, ultrasound, etc).
