An online service form for STD testing

The FSHS offers testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) to higher education students. In order to be tested, students need to complete a symptom assessment on the form provided in Self or call the FSHS’s assessment of the need for treatment team. A healthcare professional will then assess the situation and decide which examinations are needed, and will contact the student to refer them for testing.

Having a professional perform this assessment means that each student’s need for testing will be thoroughly evaluated. It also means that testing can be offered specifically to higher education students entitled to FSHS services.

In addition to the online form, the FSHS used to offer remote STD testing, but this service is no longer offered by the FSHS. The remote testing only covered chlamydia and gonorrhoea testing performed on vaginal swabs and urine samples.

Students who already ordered a remote testing kit to be delivered to their home can perform the testing as instructed in the kit and will receive their test results as normal. Any clients requiring treatment will be referred for it as normal. In addition to FSHS services, students are entitled to STD testing services provided by their wellbeing services county.
