Counselling or assessment period
The aim of counselling is to help clients analyse their current life situation, to make them understand themselves better, to provide support in situations involving changes and crisis, and to improve their problem-solving skills. A single counselling visit may be sufficient.
If based on the discussions during 1–5 counselling visits it is thought that you need further treatment, you will be informed of the treatment options available, and your treatment or rehabilitation will be planned together with you. The assessment period may include appointments with different staff members, such as a public health nurse, GP, psychologist or psychiatrist, depending on your need for assessment.
