FSHS has contacted all who may have received an erroneous chlamydia test result for re-testing

FSHS announced on Tuesday that FSHS will  invite patients who may have received an erroneous chlamydia test result between 1 October 2018 and 28 February 2019 for re-testing. There were a total of 23 such patients. FSHS has contacted all the 23 patients personally and given them instructions for re-testing.

— We contacted our patients quickly and gave them instructions for re-testing.  Re-testing will be done  as soon as possible in the coming weeks, says Päivi Metsäniemi FSHS’s Medical Director.

The situation has been caused by problems with one chlamydia test which is widely used in Finland. This test and has also been used by  FSHS.

If you have been tested for chlamydia during the period mentioned above and you have not contacted by  FSHS, re-testing is not necessary. If a specimen was given before 1 October 2018 or you have been tested from 1 March 2019 onwards, re-testing is not necessary.
