We only offer limited access to speech therapy services, so for most of them you will need a recommendation by a general practitioner.
Reasons for attending speech therapy include communication problems, voice problems, stuttering and articulation disorders. Our speech therapy services are mainly aimed at students who are studying for demanding voice professions.
In the student population problems are usually functional, with no changes seen in vocal organs yet. The therapy focus is on prevention because addressing disorders while still minor reduces the need for therapy later on. Therapy consists of information about your personal voice ergonomics and of voice and breathing exercises that aim to help you find a new way of using your voice that is appropriate for you. Therapy can be given individually or in a group.
Where necessary, the speech therapist may refer you to dental care or physiotherapy.
