May 8, 2018
The FSHS unit in Savonlinna will close in June as the teacher training unit of the University of Eastern Finland moves to Joensuu. The unit will close on 15 June at 12 noon.
The FSHS has served students in Savonlinna for 45 years. Savonlinna first had a dedicated FSHS unit when the town still provided both teacher and translator training. In the mid-2000s, the Savonlinna unit merged its administrative functions with those at Joensuu. In recent years, the FSHS has served about 800 students in Savonlinna. In future, students will visit the Joensuu unit.
