Who can use our services?
You can use our services if you are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a university or other institution of higher education and you have paid your student union membership fee to a student union that is affiliated to the FSHS. Those studying for a Licentiate of Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Medicine degree are also entitled to use the FSHS’s services.
Student unions pay a health care fee to the FSHS for each of their members. Similar to an insurance contribution, the fee per student is currently €54. Please note that the fee is not a separate payment to be made in conjunction with the student union membership fee.
How long can you use our services?
You can use our services even after graduation for as long as your student union membership remains valid. You can check the period of validity in the sticker attached to your student card. The year displayed refers either to the end of the term or the end of the academic year. (For example, 2014-2015 means your membership is valid until the end of July 2015.)
If you are going to continue your studies in the following term/academic year, you can use our services on the basis of your old term/academic year sticker until 31 August. From the beginning of September, however, you must be able to present either a valid term/academic year sticker on your student card or a certificate of attendance from the Student Affairs Office as evidence of you having paid the student union membership fee for the 2015/2016 academic year.
If you are studying for two degrees,
one of which is a basic degree and the other a post-graduate degree, you have the right to use all of our services once you have paid your student union membership fee.
Student unions only pay one health care fee to the FSHS for each of their members. In case of any uncertainty about your status, please contact your student union. The FSHS does not pay any health care fee refunds.
