Other things to remember: If you become ill, you should primarily contact a public health nurse by phone or come to the public health nurse's office between 8.00 and 10.00 am. The nurse will assess your need for treatment/health status and, if necessary, send you for further treatment. LABORATORY TESTS

Address: Kalevantie 3, Floor III, or Hervanta TUT, Sähkötalo, Korkeakoulunkatu 3. For laboratory tests you need a referral from an FSHS doctor or public health nurse.

Exceptions to our regular service hours: If New Year's Eve, Maundy Thursday, or the 30th of April fall on a weekday, the laboratory is open from 8.00 to 10.00 and only available for urgent tests. The Hervanta laboratory is closed. 

Sample collection and making an appointment: KALEVANTIE Sample collection on Mon-Fri from 8.00-12.00 without an appointment (see exceptions to regular service hours), or with an appointment, tel. 046 710 1054. An appointment is required for glucose and lactose tolerance tests.

HERVANTA Sample collection on Mon-Weds from 8.00-10.00 without an appointment (see exceptions to regular service hours). How to cancel an appointment:Cancellation must be made at the latest on the previous work day by 14.00, by calling 045 710 1054 or the appointment cancellation form.
When using an appointment cancellation form choose office, public health, and write laboratory as receiver. There is a 25 Euro fee for uncanceled appointments.

Sample collection at home: Instructions and sample containers can be picked up from the laboratory on weekdays from 8.00-15.00. Samples can be dropped off at the laboratory during sample collection hours.

Laboratory results: To receive your lab test results from a doctor, call 046 710 1054 (at the time agreed) or call a public health nurse at 046 710 1053 from Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 10.00 or between 14.00 and 15.00 (excluding Wednesdays). Other things to consider: general advice for preparing for sample collection. IMAGING EXAMINATIONS For imaging examinations (x-rays, ultrasounds) a doctor's referral is required. Other things to remember: Physiotherapy is only available if you have referral by an FSHS doctor or public health nurse.
The focus in physiotherapy is on guidance and advice.
