LABORATORY EXAMINATIONS

Laboratory examinations are only available if you have a referral by an FSHS doctor or public health nurse.

Exceptions to our regular service hours: If New Year's Eve, Maundy Thursday or 30 April falls on a weekday from Monday to Friday, only urgent emergency examinations are available on the day.

Laboratory tests and appointments: Laboratory tests are available from Monday to Friday between 8.00 and 10.00. You will need to make an appointment in advance.

Call 046 710 1082 from Monday to Thursday between 8.00 and 15.00, on Fridays between 8.00 and 14.00.

How to cancel an appointment: call 046 710 1082 no later than by 12.00 noon on the previous business day, or use the appointment cancellation form. When using the online cancellation form, select the health centre, general health and write 'laboratory' as the recipient. We charge a penalty fee of €25 for no-show appointments.

How to take a sample at home: For instructions and sample containers for samples taken at home, visit the laboratory on a business day between 8.00 and 14.00.

You can drop your sample off at the laboratory from Monday to Thursday between 8.00 and 10.00 am. Remember to follow the instructions provided by our laboratory staff regarding your specific sample.

Laboratory test results: Call a public health nurse or, if agreed, contact the referring doctor.

IMAGING EXAMINATIONS

You need a referral by an FSHS doctor for imaging examinations (X-ray, ultrasound, etc).

Other things to remember: You can also see a public health nurse without an appointment in the mornings between 8.00 and 10.00. Appointments with a public health nurse are available from Monday to Thursday between 12.30 and 14.30 and on Fridays between 12.30 and 14.00.
To make an appointment with a specialist contact the FSHS health centre for a referral. The specialist will see you either in the FSHS health centre, the Terveystalo clinic (Torikatu 17) or the Lääkärikeskus ITE clinic.
Opthalmologists' appointments take place in the Silmäasema clinic.
