Patient Ombudsman

A patient ombudsman informs the patient about his or her rights and works to promote patient rights.
The patient ombudsman advises and assists the patient, when needed, if the patient is dissatisfied with the care or treatment he or she received.

The patient ombudsman helps the patient solve the problem in the respective health care unit. The ombudsman also advises and, if necessary, assists the patient in lodging a complaint or objection or filing a patient injury claim with the Finnish Patient Insurance Center.

The patient ombudsman will not speak out regarding medical treatment decisions. Neither will the ombudsman take a stand as to whether or not any medical injury took place due to the treatment of the patient.

The FSHS Patient Ombudsman is Seija Kankare, Head Nurse, FSHS Töölö health centre.

If contacting the Patient Ombudsman, please specify which FSHS health centre's services you are using.

You can email Seija Kankare at seija.kankare(at)yths.fi.
