The Student Apple Day is the new FSHS health promotion theme day. Celebrated for the first time on Monday 13 February 2012, the purpose of the day is to encourage students to have a healthy lifestyle.
Eating fruit every day helps students cope better with their studies and invigorates their mind and body. The purpose of the theme day is to emphasise the word 'apple' as a symbol of a healthy diet. Apples will be given out to students at all FSHS health centres during the day.
Students covered by the FSHS services contact FSHS nurses for more information about a healthy lifestyle, good eating habits and ways to promote their own health.
The day also marks the 58th anniversary of the FSHS. The FSHS deed of foundation was signed on 13 February 1954.
